Dogs have different sizes, different life stages, unique breed characteristics, health conditions and a few other factors... Choosing the right food for your dog may help him or her life a longer and healthier life! We exist to make that task easier for you.

How does the Dog Food Selector work?

It's quite simple... It's a 1-2 step process. You just have to fill in the form with your dog's characteristics, like gender, age, size, activity, health conditions and a few other important data and click "search". Then, you'll see a list of dog foods with the highest review score. If you wish you can see all the detailed review of each individual dog food.

Vital Essentials Recall: Two Batches of Raw Pet Treats

July 8, 2015, Carnivore Meat Company, LLC recalled select products and lots of Carnivore Vital Essentials pet foods because they were potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Healthy dogs rarely become sick from Listeria monocytogenes. In humans, Listeria is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, fragile or elderly people, and others with debilitated immune systems.

The lots involved in this voluntary recall are:

  • Vital Essentials Frozen Beef Tripe Patties, UPC 33211 00809, Lot # 10930, Best by date 20160210
  • Vital Essentials Frozen Beef Tripe Nibblets, UPC 33211 00904, Lot # 10719, Best by date 12022015

Vital Essentials

The “Best By” date code and lot are located on the back of the package. The affected product was distributed in WA, CA, TX, GA, IL, CO, NM, FL, PA, RI, OH, and VT.
