Detail Ingredient Analysis

Protein: Chicken meal is the main protein source of this food. It is considered a meat concentrate and contains more protein than fresh chicken.

Carbohydrates: Brown rice is a complex carbohydrate. Brown rice is easy to digest and does not irritate sensitive stomachs. However, rice is of only modest nutritional value to dogs.
FDA discovered high levels of arsenic in rice, thus it seems that we will shortly be hearing more about too much amounts of this potentially hazardous substance in dog food.

Fat and oil: Chicken fat is high in linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid necessary for life. Salmon oil is naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

Fiber: Oatmeal is rich in B-vitamins and dietary fiber. If it has good quality is gluten-free. It is a great source of iron, manganese, zinc and as well as essential fatty acids and antioxidants. It includes almost a complete list of the essential amino acids very important to a complete and balanced diet.

Beet pulp is a controversial ingredient. It is a high fiber by-product of sugar beet processing and is a cheap filler. However it is also exceptional for intestinal health and presents blood sugar benefits. Beet pulp is frequently found in many quality foods, and when fed properly, is an ingredient that can be valuable to dogs.

Flaxseed is one of the best plant sources of healthy omega-3 fatty acids. It is also rich in soluble fiber. Flax seed aids in making your dog’s coat softer and shinier, with healthier skin beneath. Additionally, it contains alpha-linoleic acid, which offers benefits to your dog’s immune system and has an anti-inflammatory effect, so it might help your dog if he presents signs of arthritis or other joint problems. However, flaxseed can interfere with conception and gestation in female dogs. So if you are a dog breeder you should be aware of this fact.

Brewers yeast can be a controversial item. Although it’s a by-product of the beer making process, dogs seem to enjoy the taste of brewer’s yeast. It’s rich in B vitamins which are good for skin, coat, and carbohydrate metabolism.
Critics argue yeast ingredients can be linked to allergies and can increase the risk of developing the condition known as bloat.

Fruits and vegetables: Green Peas are a quality source of carbohydrates. They a high-quality source of plant fiber, vitamin K, vitamin C, and manganese. However, peas can be hard to digest for some dogs and can cause digestive problems like diarrhea.

Chicory root is rich in inulin, a natural source of soluble dietary fiber. It’s also a prebiotic used to promote the growth of healthy bacteria in a dog’s digestive tract.

Blueberries, cranberries and carrots represent good sources of fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. These components are very valuable to dogs.

Supplements: Chelated minerals are easier to absorb. Chelated minerals are usually found in better dog foods.

Yeast extract contains amino acids, minerals, and vitamins. It is also a source of prebiotics which support your dog’s intestinal health.

This food does not contain dyes, artificial flavors or artificial preservatives.
