Dry, wet or fresh?
Dry foods, wet foods and fresh plans can have very different water content, packaging and storage requirements. Choose a workable routine and an appropriate complete diet rather than assuming one format wins on ingredient appearance. A complementary topper is not automatically a complete meal.
Compare affordability using the daily ration
Cost per day = pack price ÷ pack weight in grams × the appropriate grams per day. Add delivery charges and separate treats or toppers. At the same pack price, a calorie-dense food may require a different serving from another food; pounds per bag alone cannot settle the comparison. Tailored subscriptions need a quote covering the same number of days.
Puppies, seniors and individual needs
Growing dogs need an appropriate growth diet; do not substitute an adult label just because the breed matches. For a senior dog, discuss changes in appetite, weight or muscle condition with your vet rather than assuming age alone dictates a particular food. Medical conditions and suspected allergies need an individual assessment.
